“Can you round the square table?”
This question was the point of departure for the 4.2.7 table project, a private commission for a kitchen table. For the purpose of ’rounding’ the existing clients’ square kitchen table to be able to fit in more people around it, I decided to use the geometrical formula which allows creating an heptagon out of a rectangle.>>>

The new heptagonal table which is neither a rectangular, nor a round shaped table suited the clients’ needs, allowing for 7 people to dine comfortably at the same time. The process of dividing a square into pieces which are then rearranged to form an heptagon are evident on the table’s top surface, a colourful presence of the clients’ original quest.
